Honeymoon Part 4: Hue, Vietnam

Wow! I'm way too far too behind with my honeymoon photos considering it was in August! See earlier posts here, here and here. After Hoi An we visited Hue which is quite a large city that was hugely important in the Vietnam war. It's situated along the Perfume River and is well know for its historic monuments. We spent two night there doing real tourists things which was great, but pretty exhausting. I walked some serious calories off! We visited the Citadel (which was a huge forgotten walled city that had been home to Emperors), tombs of several Emperors, a Buddhist temple and a large school building. We also went to a martial arts show as part of a trip. We stayed at the Orchard hotel  which was amazing. The staff were so helpful and so friendly I really cannot recommend it enough. When they found out it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to the top floor honeymoon suite which had a double jacuzzi bath and a honeymoon cake and red roses waiting for us. Whist in Hue we ate some incredible vegetarian food. The picture below is completely meat free, believe it or not! The things that look like chicken drumsticks are actually tofu around a piece of lemongrass. They were one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I've also included some photographs of one of the craziest stalls I saw whilst I was there. They sell anything and everything on stalls along the street in Vietnam and one of my favourite stalls was the live fish stall! People would just come along and buy pet fish and even mini turtles! How cute are they? I wasn't quite so impressed with the stall with exotic birds in tiny cages next to it. After Hue we headed to our real honeymoon destination which was unbelievable luxury. Hopefully I'll get round to posting that before Christmas!!
