Tea for Two

Today has been a good day! We spent most of the day decorating our wall with a selection of floral wallpaper to create a patchwork effect (post to follow). I am totally in love with it and keep sneaking glances at it! Anyway, we were having so much fun decorating that it actually seemed like a chore to stop to go and get the afternoon tea we had booked as a belated valentines treat. How wrong I was! This had to be the best afternoon tea I have ever had! We had sandwiches, cheese AND fruit scones and amazing desserts including raspberry meringue, toffee chocolate cake and a raspberry fool complete with popping candy! The hall was beautiful and to top it all off there was a pianist playing a range of tunes including songs from the Little Mermaid and The Lion King! That sealed it for me... it really was the best afternoon tea I have sampled so far and believe me when I say I have had my fair share!

I chose to wear my new favourite outfit: a black and white stripe laced top from Warehouse, a black skater skit from H&M and Primark Moustache shoes. I did however feel a little too French (drawing on stereotypes here - sorry) for something as English as afternoon tea!

I also seem to have accidently jumped on the monochrome trend bandwagon. Usually I love florals and pastels and steer clear of monochrome, but I am drawn to it at the moment. What do you think of the monochrome trend?
