We stopped at Brighton and I have to say I liked it. It's nice to see a British seaside town that is still thriving and isn't too run down. We visited the Royal Pavilion and the museum, browsed the straits, stopped for coffee and dinner and, of course, walked along the pier. A walk along the pier must be obligatory on a first visit to Brighton.
I'm about 14 weeks pregnant here and starting to show. Not that you can tell when I'm wearing a smock dress. I got this dress from ASOS in the sale and it's not a maternity dress, but it had lots of room to grow into. I just worry that it's going to become very short at the front very soon. I might not be able to wear it for much longer! I know that smock dresses are a bit of a pregnant woman cliché and maybe they do hide the bump a little too much, but I really do love them and this is something I can wear long after the birth. I am so torn at the moment, I want to buy so many new clothes to fit my new shape, but I am so used to buying clothes that I know I will love for ever so I'm finding it pretty hard to buy things knowing I will only be able to wear them for a few month. I keep telling myself I can sell them on eBay after or I can wear them again when I have baby number two! Ok, maybe I;m getting ahead of myself! The other problem is there's not a lot of choice out there, especially in stores. Every shop I have visited just seems to have a huge array of T-shirts, trousers and leggings in black, grey, navy and white! Online maternity shopping definitely seems the way forward and I have found some real gems at Asos, New Look and Topshop. Although Topshop is expensive at the best of times and especially so when I'm only going to wear things for a few months. I really want something bodycon at the moment. It's usually something I shy away from because I usually hate my stomach area, but now I have a reason for my bump in that department I feel like I can show it off a bit!
I've been trying to get back into accessories and jewellery lately. They both used to be 'my thing'. Seriously, I have storage boxes, hat boxes, jewellery boxes and hangers filled with the stuff, but so much of it is years old and never seems quite right. I picked up this necklace in the Topshop sale and I have been trying to experiment with this above knuckle/midi-ring thing, but I got these from Primark and I don't think they look quite right! I think they just make me look like I have circulation problems! I have my eye on some from Topshop. I can't find the exact ones, but they are a bit like these.
I'm currently just over 16 weeks pregnant and feeling so much better! I have definitely got my appetite back and I feel a lot less sick. I just wish I could sleep past 5:30 then maybe I wouldn't feel quite so tired later in the day! I'll so a pregnancy update post soon. Bye for now xx
