How far along?
15 weeks and 4 days.
Total weight gain?
I have absolutely no idea! I have no working scales and I haven't even measured my bump, but it does seem a little on the large size for this early stage of pregnancy. I don't really have anything to compare it to though.
Yes! So many of my clothes are too tight. My jeans are far too small and so many of my skater dresses either don't fit or sit so badly on my bump. Until recently I had just been wearing non-maternity swing and smock dresses from Asos, but I have bought some Topshop Leigh Maternity jeans (so comfortable and such a good fit - I want to wear them forever) a couple of T-shirts and a vest from H&M and a couple of pieces from Asos. I have just placed an order for two more dresses and two skirts from asos and I have a ridiculously long watch list on my eBay account. I keep telling myself I only need a few items, but I'm making sure I don't buy anything too expensive. The Topshop jeans are my biggest indulgence and I am trying to hunt some black ones down on eBay rather than paying full price again. I have just filmed a youtube video of my maternity purchases but I'm not sure I will upload it as the quality isn't great!
None yet and I am checking like a crazy woman! I am a very lucky girl because my husband bought me some Clarins Firming Body Treatment Oil and I have been using it at least a couple of times a week. Before that I was spreading cream on every day, but I find this stuff doesn't need to be applied quite so often. Besides, for that price I am making it last! Clarins recommend it for pregnant women, it's all natural ingredients and has apparently been around and used by pregnant women for decades. I did get worried when I read that it contained rosemary oil and if you're thinking of getting this it is worth reading up on it.
Sleep! What can I say about that! I'm not as tired as I was in the first trimester, but I am still often lacking in energy compared to what I was like pre-pregnancy. I keep waking up at about 4am and I really struggle to get back to sleep. Also my bump has started to feel slightly heavy when I lie on my side so I have to lean slightly on my tummy, but I'm really not used to this position. I am thinking of buying a pregnancy cushion, but didn't think I would need one quite yet.
Best moments of the week?
I have had a few really good days where I haven't felt sick either at all or not until very late evening. I have felt much more like my usual self! I've been starting to get back into food which is a big deal for me and my husband because we are usually total foodies.
I have enjoyed going shopping with my mum and looking at baby stuff and seeing her excited. I got a little too excited when I bought this baby record book today. It is so cute with little envelopes and pockets for a variety of keepsakes. I might do a blogpost on it.
I have been on holiday from work and I have enjoyed spending some relaxing time at home catching up on little jobs, having lie-ins when I need them and spending time with my husband.
Worst moment this week?
I'm no longer feeling continuously sick, but when I do feel sick I seem to be more likely to actually throw up. This seems to often happen before bed time and I am really struggling to brush my teeth on a night time. I am also struggling with a really stuffy nose late at night and this is making me feel more sick. Fortunately, my husband has assured me I have not been guilty of snoring at any point!
I miss red wine more than anything! I miss runny egg yokes, especially Eggs Florentine with loads of hollandaise sauce and I have a serious craving for a Yo Sushi Salmon and Avocado Roll (I can't eat them because the salmon is raw and hasn't been frozen).
I have desperately been trying to decide if I can feel our baby moving. I occasionally think I can feel butterflies, but this could just be wishful thinking.
Mainly fruit especially juicy fruit such as peaches, lychees and pineapple. I am also craving water! I know...crazy! Of all the things to crave, but I am drinking gallons of it and want that instead of soft drinks, cordial etc. I can't complain...it's healthy and free! On a less healthy note, I have a slight obsession with salt and vinegar Squares and BLTs made with veggie bacon. They take me right back to sixth form! And here's a weird one for you... pickled walnuts! If you haven't tried them and you like your pickles you need to hunt some down. They sound weird and to be honest they are a bit weird, but trust me, they're amazing!
Anything making you feel queasy or sick?
Since I was about 5 weeks pregnant I have been completely off lentils! I usually love them and they're such a good source of protein considering I don't eat meat, but I just can't bring myself to eat them. I still struggle with things like humus and falafel which are usually two of my favourite things. I am now able to face rocket, sweet potato and guacamole though. This makes me happy! I don't eat much fish (I didn't eat it at all for twelve years when I was a full blown vegetarian), but some days the thought of it makes me feel so queasy and other days I become obsessed with having some.
We are finding out when I am 20 weeks and I cannot wait! I am surprised at how many people have been critical of our decision to find out, including complete strangers. It's such an easy decision for me to make. I am far too much of a planner and organiser to not find out.
Just tiredness (but nothing like the first trimester), feeling and being sick at night and a stuffy nose. I also struggle with car journeys. I used to as a child and since being pregnant this has come back with vengeance.
Belly button in or out?
Very much in and showing no signs of popping out!
Happy or moody most of the time?
I have felt much happier and much more like my usual self this week.
Looking forward to?
Feeling our baby move!
